Can you believe the fires are still burning? Clearly we had too much forest...
Frivolity aside, another fairly mild Sunday with partially overcast conditions. There was enough haze to create some sunset-like glow for much of the day, but light was variable. Some times smooth and even, sometimes bright with deep shadows.
I spent most of the day shooting at 1/80th and then 1/60th. There are a few at higher speeds, but not many. As a general rule - earlier in the gallery - 1/80th, later in the gallery - 1/60th. While 1/80th tend to be sharper shots - for whatever reason I really prefer those taken at 1/60th. The soft green background makes a great contrast to the sharp edges of the bike/car.
For whatever reason, traffic was again fairly light - but I was there all morning into early afternoon - hence the gallery is around 200 shots.
As with all such images, there's definitely a compromise in clarity with such slow shutter speeds. If I didn't think it "worked", you won't find it here. Am certainly interested in feedback if you have a different opinion. You can contact me though this website or over on facebook.
If you think you like them - you should really buy one (or ten!) - the originals are at least 4000px across, and I absolutely guarantee you'll be happy with the outcome. Taking and editing photos takes a lot of time, the equipment and this website costs money. Yada yada yada. I'm also happy to stylise/re-crop etc anything you buy - just send me an email (or facebook also works)
Note: All images are available for free download - click on the download symbol at the top of the page when viewing a single photo.
Note: Purchased images are all at least 4000px across (about 4-5 times the size you see them in the gallery) and do not have the large watermark.
Half the photos were taken at 1/60th of a second. When it works, it's hard to argue with the results:
KTM950SM - Bit of a rare beast. This one leaves trails of sparks.

Slow shutter does wonders for cars too. I love this shot because of the way the focus point happened to land on the "Carrera S"

White car of the day award goes to this gorgeous FD RX7. Just amazing - still an utter bastard to photograph though. White cars...
