Royal National Park - Sunday 01 December 2019

December 01, 2019  •  Leave a Comment

My first official trip in to the Royal National Park was a bit of a mixed bag. Light traffic and some indecision about where was a good place to shoot meant I didn't get  a whole lot of shots.

On the bright side - I didn't spend all my spare time for an entire week going through them - instead - two (very late) nights - and we have 80 +/- shots to show for it.  As this was somewhat experimental - I was trying a lot of different camera settings - so there were definitely some good shots that "got away". Still, no use crying over missed opportunities - what follows is a good mix of bikes and cars (if ever there was such a thing) - and one bicycle for good measure.

Feedback welcome. If you didn't find me from facebook - you can follow me over there for updates on where I am shooting and when new galleries are published. (There's a link in the top right corner)

Please note that I was shooting late into the afternoon in patchy light - this makes for some pretty challenging conditions. If you like a photo enough to buy it - I will go over it and make sure it's as good as it can be - the ones in the gallery are edited, but I try not to spend too long on them for obvious reasons.

Most of my photos are shot with slow shutter speeds. As with all such images,  there's definitely a compromise in clarity when you use such slow shutter speeds. If I didn't think it "worked", you won't find it here. I am certainly interested in feedback if you have a different opinion. You can contact me though this website or over on facebook.

If you think you like them - you should really buy one (or ten!) - the originals are at least 4000px across, and I absolutely guarantee you'll be happy with the outcome. Taking and editing photos takes a lot of time, the equipment and this website costs money.  Yada yada yada. I'm also happy to stylise/re-crop etc anything you buy - just send me an email (or facebook also works)

Note: All images are available for free download  - click on the download symbol at the top of the page when viewing a single photo.

Note: Purchased images are all at least 4000px across (about 4-5 times the size you see them in the gallery) and do not have the large watermark.

Shooter's Notes

FD RX-7. Probably one of the most beautiful cars ever to come out of Japan. Also - winner of the coolest number plate of the day. Well done, sir.

SBR-4Kx-CAR-red-20191201-SBR_5628Not so grim, Reaper.Any other car, this photo would be in the trash (I hate that you can't see the front wheel). But wow - that rear.

690 Duke, taken at 1/80th of a second.  Pretty sure this wasn't standing still for the shot.

The sun was almost gone when this alien craft came out. Feel the atmosphere - captured at 1/60th of a second.

Enough waffle - view the gallery!
