October? I feel like 3 months just disappeared somewhere that wasn't fun.
If my last outing was quiet because of the long weekend - this one was BEZERK. Thank you un-lockdown. I shot about 1200 photos per hour, for 4 hours by which time my memory cards were as full as the leach which had attached itself to my foot.
Having to choose between processing 5000 images and going to the pub for the first through fifth time in 3 months meant that this gallery took a bit longer to realise than normal, but a lot less time than a Victorian snap lockdown. So, let's be grateful for what we have.
Unfortunately for us both, lockdown also meant that I'd forgotten some of my hard learned lessons around shooting in patchy light on a bright day. If I could send a message to my past self, I'd say "don't shoot". 9 nights processing 4 hours worth of images suggests that I may've spent too much time trying to undo the follies of the day.
Regrets aside, have I got a gallery for you !? Yes.
Mixed lighting conditions, and lots of variations with settings means there's a bit more variation than in previous days. I started the day bracketing 1/100th to 1/60th, which means that in some instances there are 3 consecutive shots progressing from 1/100th to 1/80th to 1/60th. It was a cool idea - but what a nightmare to process. Remind me to save that for overcast conditions.
After a week and a half of late nights, I've whittled the original 5048 images down to the gallery of 508 images.
If you find something you like - it'd be great if you could value my time and effort by purchasing an image or three. $10 is a screaming deal - I put real effort into each and every photo I publish. Note now you also have the option to buy yourself a photo, and throw an extra beer my way. No obligation, but if you would like to, now you can. Also, I love beer.
Note: Purchased images are all at least 4000px across (about 3.5 times the size you see them in the gallery) and do not have the large watermark.
Almost over-exposedbut i liked the composition "feel" of it too much not to save it.
