Sunday on the Old Road was surprisingly pleasant given the high winds that ended the week. The sun was out, and the road was full of happy people. I have never had so many people wave, spring must be in the air.
I continued my experiments with slow shutter speeds, although I've all but given up on 1/100th of a second for everything except completely side on shots. After yet another spectacularly high discard rate at 1/125th sec. - I'm starting to think I may just go with what I was told recently by a fellow photographer - 1/160th. There are a couple of rippers in this lot though - but again there's definitely a compromise in clarity with such slow shutter speeds. I actually threw away several where the helmet was absolutely pin-sharp (which is normally my gauge for keep-ability) but the rest of the rider/bike was just mush. There's also a couple which seem to work despite a lot of motion - I'll point some out below.
If you think you like them - you should really buy one (or ten!) - the originals are at least 4000px across, and I absolutely guarantee you'll be happy with the outcome. Taking and editing photos takes a lot of time, the equipment and this website costs money. Yada yada yada. I'm also happy to stylise/re-crop etc anything you buy - just send me an email (or facebook also works)
Note: All images are available for free download - click on the download symbol at the top of the page when viewing a single photo.
Note: Purchased images are all at least 4000px across (about 4-5 times the size you see them in the gallery) and do not have the large watermark.
Some selected images below. Note that if you want your photo(s) to get the black & white treatment like some of the below - let me know.
Rainbow lorikeet amongst the pigeonsI love the contrast between the lipstick red of the Mazda RX8 and the procession of white cars.
